Prices and booking

How much does it cost to hire a pressure washer in Airlie Beach?

Pressure washer hire in Airlie Beach costs $100 a day at Airlie Pressure Hire, petrol or electric, same price. Add the 38cm surface cleaner for $30 a day or the 10m garden hose for $10 a day, and delivery plus pickup is $25 from Jubilee Pocket to Proserpine, or free if you collect from Riordanvale. Multi-day hire is days x $100, no separate weekend rate. Rather not do it yourself? We do the job for you at $40 an hour, minimum 3 hours. Full rates on the prices page.

Can you do the pressure washing for me?

Yes. Airlie Pressure Hire offers a done-for-you service at $40 an hour, minimum 3 hours. We bring the petrol or electric pressure washer, your choice, and do the work for you. Attachments on the petrol washer, like the surface cleaner, are included if the job needs them. Check availability or call 0459 223 498 to book it in.

How much does pressure washing cost in Airlie Beach?

If we do it for you, pressure washing costs $40 an hour with a 3 hour minimum, so jobs start at $120. That is a flat published rate, not a quote: you pay for the hours worked and the machine, fuel and attachments are all included. If you would rather do it yourself, hiring a machine is $100 a day.

What is included in the $40 an hour?

Everything the job needs: your choice of the petrol or electric pressure washer, fuel, water hose connection, and attachments on the petrol unit like the surface cleaner if the surface suits it. We bring the gear, do the work and pack it all up. You just need a working tap at the property.

How long is a hire day?

7am to 6pm, the same price all 7 days. Keep it for a shorter stint if that suits, the day rate is the same. Return more than an hour past 6pm and a $50 half-day applies.

Do I need to leave a bond?

No bond. You pay the hire fee in full at pickup or delivery: tap card, Apple Pay or Google Pay through Square, or pay cash. You sign a simple hire agreement, and we sight your driver's licence and note the number on paper. No photos, no copies kept.

Can I change or cancel my booking?

Plans change, especially around Whitsundays weather. Call or text as soon as you know and we will move your day or sort it out. You have not paid anything until pickup, so there is nothing to claw back.

Should I hire or buy a pressure washer?

If you pressure clean once or twice a year, hiring wins. A machine with the grunt of our petrol unit costs $700 or more to buy, then sits in the shed rusting, needs fuel kept fresh, servicing and storage. $100 gets you a maintained, tested machine on the day you need it, and returning it is someone else's problem. Cleaning every month? Then buying starts to make sense and we will tell you so.

The machines

Petrol or electric, which one should I hire?

Petrol for big outdoor jobs, driveways and heavy grime. It is the stronger unit at 2900 PSI, needs no powerpoint and drives the surface cleaner. Electric for quiet jobs, guests nearby, cars, boats and gentler surfaces. Not sure? Tell us the job and we will point you at the right machine.

What can 2900 PSI actually clean?

2900 PSI strips years of grime, tropical mould and algae off concrete, pavers, brick and render. It handles driveways, paths, retaining walls, boat hulls and trailers. On softer surfaces like timber decks, painted walls and vehicles, work further back or use the wider fan nozzle, and flaking paint will come off, which is either a problem or exactly what you wanted.

What fuel does the petrol unit take?

Unleaded 91 only, no E10 and no premium. It goes out with a full tank, and most day jobs will not use it all. Return it full or we add $20 for the refuel.

What do I need to run the electric washer?

A standard powerpoint and a heavy-duty outdoor extension lead. Keep the lead as short as the job allows: up to 20m it needs 1.5mm² conductors, 20m to 50m needs 2.5mm². Cheap thin leads make the motor struggle and trip breakers. If you are not sure about your lead, bring it to pickup or send a photo and we will tell you.

What water supply do I need?

A normal garden tap at mains pressure does the job for both machines. Use a standard 12mm garden hose in good condition, connected and flushed before you start. Tank water works too if the pressure and flow are decent, and we fit a filter if the water is sandy. No tap at the job? Ask us about options when you book.

Do I need my own garden hose?

If you have a standard 12mm garden hose in good condition, use it. If not, hire our 10m Nylex Flextreme hose for $10 a day: a soft no-kink hybrid polymer hose with brass quick-connect fittings, UV stabilised and rated to 3,400 kPa. It works with both the petrol and electric washers and clicks straight on.

What is a surface cleaner and is it worth $30?

A round attachment with spinning jets under a stainless dome, like a lawnmower deck for concrete. It halves driveway time and leaves an even finish with no wand stripes. Worth it for any decent slab of flat concrete, skip it for small or vertical jobs. It hires only as an add-on to our petrol washer. Full detail on the surface cleaner page.

On the day

Is a pressure washer hard to use?

No. If you can use a garden hose you can use these. We run you through starting, nozzles and technique at pickup or delivery, it takes five minutes. Test on an out-of-the-way patch first, keep the nozzle moving, and work top to bottom. The machine does the hard part.

What if it rains on my hire day?

Light rain is fine for the petrol unit, plenty of people clean in drizzle, the surface is getting wet anyway. The electric unit must not be used in rain. If the weather sets in, call us and we will move your day, no drama and no fee.

Does Bunnings in Cannonvale hire pressure washers?

No. Bunnings Cannonvale does not stock hire pressure washers, the nearest Bunnings hire units are hours away. Airlie Pressure Hire fills that gap: local pressure washer hire, open 7 days, with delivery from Jubilee Pocket to Proserpine.

Is a gerni the same as a pressure washer?

Yes. Gerni, gurney, pressure cleaner, water blaster, high-pressure cleaner, they are all names for the same machine. Gerni is a brand name that became the word, like Esky. If you searched gerni hire Airlie Beach, you are in the right place.

How old do I need to be to hire?

Minimum hire age is 16 with a valid licence or photo ID. Under 18s are welcome, plenty of young tradies and first-jobbers hire from us, sign the same agreement and follow the same rules.
